Bromley House fundraiser

Some of our Volunteers attended a great fundraising evening at Bromley House Library on Thursday 2nd October. A subscription library (formerly Nottingham Subscription Library), Bromley House Library was formed in 1816, becoming one of the first subscription libraries in the local area, long before the establishment of public libraries. It houses over 50,000 books, manuscripts, maps and other materials is spread over three floors of a beautiful Grade II listed building, right in the middle of Nottingham’s city centre. Volunteers were treated to a really interesting talk and tour inside one of Nottingham’s hidden gems. Big thanks to Matt Dolman and the Bromley team and their volunteers for a really enjoyable and informative evening. We are repeating the event for Corporate donors in November, and hope to run a similar event in 2026 due to the lovely feedback and success of this event.
