On Wednesday 15 July we marked the 30th anniversary of Literacy Volunteers with a celebratory event at Trent Vineyard.
We celebrated our wonderful longstanding volunteers, were treated to a performance by year 6 pupils from Mellers Primary School and enjoyed keynotes from Debbie Thomas and our patron, Jacob Dunne. Debbie is a lecturer in reading for pleasure at the Open University and shared some fascinating insights.
The event was also an opportunity to say a huge thank you to Sue Marriott, who will be stepping down as CEO at the end of July after 25 years dedicated to Literacy Volunteers. We will miss her hugely!
